Lactation Support

Home Visits by an IBCLC

Trusted, experienced & inclusive lactation care in the comfort of your own home.

Ann-Marie Christian (a.k.a. @BirthworkMama) has been an

International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) since 2011.

The IBCLC certification is the GOLD Standard in advanced lactation care.

Booking an Initial Double Consult ensures you get special pricing and

priority scheduling for these crucial first 2 visits. How will we know if the plan of care we decide on together is working? At least one follow-up visit is a must!

Often times several follow-up visits may be necessary, especially for complex feeding/lactation issues, which can be scheduled as needed.

I also understand the importance of being able to share your story with me and the comfort of connecting before consulting. That's why I offer a complementary 15 minute phone call to hear directly from you what's going on and to assess how I may be able to help before we schedule your consultation.

Initial DOUBLE Home Visit Consultations:

Complementary 15 min. introductory phone call

Medical & birth history intake & communication of lactation/feeding goals

1st home visit ~ approx. 1.5 - 2 hours

Written Plan of Care with Rationale and Timeline

2nd home visit ~ approx. 1.5 hours (scheduled within 1 week of initial visit)

Review & revise (if needed) written Plan of Care

1 week of text/email support & resources as needed

Personalized initial lactation consultation & follow-up visits can include:

  • Baby weight check

  • Baby oral structure/function assessment (referral to provider trained in diagnosing/revising tongue-tie if needed)

  • Mama/Lactating Parent breasts/chest assessment

  • Observation of Feeding

  • Pre/post feed weight (if needed)

  • Written assessment & Plan Of Care provided to Mama/Parent and primary healthcare providers of lactating parent & baby (as needed)

Initial DOUBLE Home Visit Consult Investment: $299

Additional Travel Fee if home is outside Lodi, CA

Follow-Up Home Visit Consultation:

Complex lactation challenges often require multiple visits to ensure mama/baby/parent/family are confident in the progress they are making towards their goals. My goal is always to "graduate" families from my care, although many choose to continue with Nurturing Circles "tune-ups" or check-ins as their child(ren) grow. I have been blessed with many lifelong friendships that have grown from families starting as clients.

Follow-up Single Home Visit Investment: $120 (1.5 hrs)
